Following our amazing visit from handmade cosmetic specialists 'Lush' it was time for students to start their own bath bomb project.
Week one - students were given the brief and set the challenge of making their own bath bomb. In small teams, they researched what ingredients they would need and needed to source a simple method to follow. The session finished with each team submitting an order form which included quantities for their prototype. It was great to see that students considering the environmental impact of the project and ordering biodegradable products. Students really thought about how their bath bomb would look, smell and react with water.
Week two - the teams got stuck into all making their prototype bath bombs and had to follow their methods carefully. There was lots of creative ideas from indulgent chocolate inspired bath bombs to relaxing rainbow designs.
Week three - it was time to test the prototypes and make alterations to their ingredients. The students were reflective and made alterations based on how they fizzed in water and what the smell was like, they also had to ensure the consistency of their bath bomb was as desired.
The project is going really well and the students are embracing the challenge.
Well done to all involved. Keep it up.
