On Thursday 20th September some of our year 8 students took part in the Football 4 Peace Festival at the University of Brighton. The day was spent developing the core values of trust, respect, equity, inclusion and responsibility. Hove Park students worked with students from 5 other schools across Sussex and demonstrated an exemplary level of fair play and sportsmanship throughout the day. They spent the morning getting to know their team mates from Eastbourne Academy, Willingdon, St Richards and PCS before self refereeing their own tournament in the afternoon. Unlike other competitions, each team awarded their opponents with 'fairplay' points after each game which contributed to the teams overall scores. The winners were determined by the team who displayed the upmost sportsmanship. Hove Park had students in both the winning and runners up teams. The students were a pleasure to take and a real credit to Hove Park School.
