Ex-Hove Park pupil, Paul Samuels, visited Hove Park today to speak to students about their life choices, and the decisions in his life that have lead him to where he is now. Paul is currently Executive Vice President of AEG, the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company. AEG promote global music tours with the likes of Paul McCartney, Elton John, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, as well as produce some of the biggest festivals such as Coachella in the US, and BST in Hyde Park. They also own and operate some of the best arenas in the world, including The O2 in London, and various sports teams such as the LA Lakers & LA Galaxy.
Paul is part of a project from the charity, Speakers for Schools, www.speakers4schools.org which connect inspiration speakers and leaders of today to state schools throughout the UK.
Paul said, “I wanted to give back to my old school, Hove Park, which gave me a good grounding for my future.”
Head Teacher Mr Roberts said of Paul’s inspiration talk “‘It was great to welcome Paul back to his former school and for the students hear him talk of his journey since leaving us. He talked about commitment, perseverance and resilience, as characteristics that helped him get to where he is today. Students were completely captivated and asked lots of interesting questions. Hearing and seeing someone who used to sit in the same assembly hall as them, reinforces the message that anything is possible with hard work.”
