Second annual Hove Park School 5k Race in support of Chestnut Tree House

We are very excited to be holding the second annual Hove Park School 5k Race on Friday 8th June at 2pm. The race last year was an amazing collaboration between students, staff and the local community and raised £1400 for Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice. The event was sold out last year with 100 participants including students and staff from Hove Park School running a marshalled course around the school grounds and to a nearby park, making it a mixed terrain cross country event!

This year we have extended the number of places available and hope to sell out this year with 160 runners including some students from Goldstone Primary School. The students are super excited again this year and will have a choice of running or waking the event to raise money for Chestnut Tree House. We have been sponsored by 3 local companies; Phone Mike, Active Physio and Safety Mode. They have provided amazing bespoke water bottles that the students will receive at the end of the race.

All participants will receive a specially designed medal and a goodie bag filled with gifts and refreshments. Local leader of the highly successful Hove Hornets, Matt Lambert will be starting the race and he has supplied oranges and gifts for the goodie bags for all the participants.

This is a fantastic way to celebrate the community spirit that is here at Hove Park School at the same time as providing an opportunity for competitive running as well. The winner last year was Daniel Simpkin who will be back to defend his title this year I’m sure!
