World Book Day 2019

To celebrate World Book Day, Hove Park School was taken over by over 20 teachers on both sites acting very strangely...for one day only, they 'became' books such as: Noughts and Crosses, The Wizard of Oz and The Great Gatsby! Students whizzed around the school to complete the Book Title Quest to win a 'booky' prize.

Year 7 participated in a successful spelling bee during assembly as led by Mrs Ruggles. Over 15 students entered the '500 words' short story competition with a chance to win two theatre tickets to see Malorie Blackman's 'Noughts and Crosses' at the Theatre Royal. All entries have been entered into the BBC Radio 2 story competition.

All students were given a free book voucher by their English teachers and around 200 books were swapped in the LRC at lunch time. Finally, a movie showing of The Great Gatsby was shown in the library at Nevill with popcorn and 1920s mocktails on sale to raise money for Our Prom. A lucky student found the winning golden ticket inside his popcorn and won a Nando's gift card. Dreams can come true!
