Year 7 win the famous Derby in dramatic style!

Year 7 were again in action on Tuesday 9th January in the local Derby against Blatchington Mill.

Both of these sides have already made it through to the County Cup Quarter Final. It proved to be a very tight match. There was a record crowd in for this tie. With both sets of players knowing each other well, it was a game neither wanted to lose.

The first half was very tightly contested. The best two chances fell to Blatchington Mill with them hitting the bar and post. 0-0 Half time.

The second half was again extremely evenly matched. Then a free kick with ten minutes to go 20 yards out. Up stepped midfield general Joe K. The wall was set, the keeper was on his toes. The crowd went quiet. Joe K struck the ball with an amazing amount of pace, it flew into the top corner, no keeper would have saved it. The crowd went wild and the players rushed over to celebrate. What a goal.

The side then locked the door, everyone was behind the ball. Blatchington Mill created a few more chances only for keeper Michael W being in sparkling form to deny them. Then the whistle.
