In Years 7, 8 and 9 the curriculum is in accordance with the requirements of the National Curriculum. Assessment is based on National Curriculum levels, except in the case of GCSE and other externally certificated courses offered within the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum.

In Years 10 and 11 students follow a range of courses leading to externally certificated qualifications. These courses include: GCSEs, NVQs, Diplomas, specialist vocational qualifications from a number of examining bodies, including BTEC, City & Guilds and OCR.
Every student has a personalised and balanced curriculum that takes into account their individual needs and abilities. The majority of students have the opportunity to gain the equivalent of 10 GCSEs (in addition to any qualifications gained at Key Stage 3).
All students follow courses leading to GCSE qualifications in English (usually both English Language and English Literature), Mathematics and Science (usually both Science and Additional Science). All students follow at least one course leading to a Language qualification. All students have the opportunity to study a Humanities subject. All students participate in activities and courses for: Physical Education; Citizenship; Information and Communication Technology; Enterprise; Careers; Personal Finance; Personal, Social and Health Education; Philosophy, Ethics and Religious Education.
