At Hove Park we have two well resourced libraries with qualified staff on both sites to help students and provide an atmosphere conducive to study. Students are encouraged to become independent learners through guidance and an intensive induction programme in Year 7. In Year 10, when our students move sites, we run another introductory session.

Students are encouraged to use our facilities through the use of publicity and literacy based competitions and events, these run throughout the academic year. Both libraries are open before school, at break, lunch and after school giving optimum opportunities for our young people to make the most of these areas.

At Valley Library, students can use a wide selection of games such as chess, scrabble, whose it? and hand held general knowledge quizzes. Both areas have ICT facilities, dvds, videos, magazines, newspapers, revision guides and a wide range of both fiction and non-fiction. All students are actively encouraged to take out fiction books as reading is fundamental to the improvement of vocabulary, spelling and grammar. We work closely with departments to ensure that our stock is contemporary and relevant. We also listen to our students and actively encourage them to suggest titles which if possible we will purchase.
