PSHE

At Hove park school, all students engage in our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education) programme, which supports whole education and the development of the whole child. This looks different depending on the year group and site the students are on, but covering common themes:

  • Diversity and antibullying
  • Drugs and alcohol education
  • Financial decision making
  • Healthy choices (Mental and physical health)
  • Relationships (familial and friendships)
  • Relationships and sex education (RSE)

We recognise that parents and carers have the right to request that their child be withdrawn from sex education delivered as part of statutory relationships and sex education up until three school terms before the young person turns 16. We will inform parents and carers of this right in the school welcome pack.
Our PSHE programme is also supplemented by our enrichment days, including our equalities day that happens at the end of the first autumn half term.

Please see below the programme of study for each year group split up by half term of study. If you wish to ask about further detail or to see resources so you can support your child’s learning, please email tnapper@hovepark.org.uk with which year your child is in and what content you want to ask about.
